These Pubs Want Your Pitches ASAP — and a New Travel Mag Is Here!

Hello travel writers,

We know it’s Thanksgiving crunch week and we’re all scrambling to get five days of work done in three, so we appreciate you taking a little time out to read our newsletter (where you will inevitably find opportunities for even more work). Yay!

In all seriousness, we’re endlessly thankful for this community and the travel writing opportunities we’re able to share here and on our job board. (And by the way, we hear all of you who are deleting your Twitter/X accounts, and we’ll avoid linking to jobs there whenever possible moving forward — but please note some editors are still using the platform for their calls for pitches, and we don’t want anyone to miss out.)

Speaking of not missing out, keep an eye on your inboxes this week, because our biggest class sale of the year is coming in the next few days. It’s been a while, and we had to get in on the Black Friday fun.

One Place We Love

Stacey just got back from Thailand, where she ate so much spicy food she is still sweating a full 24 hours later. (And she says she’d do it all again today if she could.) The photo above is from the Sunday Night Market in Phuket.

One Story We Love (JK It’s a Whole Magazine!)

We are over the moon to see a new travel magazine hit the market — the first-ever Hotels Above Par print magazine is coming and it is beautiful! You’ll be able to get your hands on a copy soon, but in the meantime, follow HAP and its incredible CEO Brandon Berkson for more. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to take Brandon’s Be A Travel Writer Class! Congratulations to the HAP team and all of its contributors (including Stacey, Rachel Chang, and more familiar faces from the BATW community)!

See you in class,

Stacey & Nina
