Hello, travel writers,

First of all, everyone please join me in wishing Stacey a happy birthday!

Since it’s her birthday and I happen to know she’s already gone to bed, I’m going to use this newsletter to brag about her latest travel writing (and photography) win: Her North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) bronze award in the Culinary Travel category for “The New Albania” in Food & Wine.

The story is exclusively in print right now, but we’ll send out a link when it’s on digital. In the meantime, you can read more about Stacey’s personal connection to this beautiful destination on her Instagram.

Once you’re finished celebrating Stacey, keep scrolling for this week’s job openings and calls for pitches. As always, you can subscribe to our job board for WAY more jobs each week, including calls for pitches, full-time, part-time, and copywriting roles, updated daily, for just $4/month or $40/year.

Need more advice or want to brush up on some skills? Check out our classes and remember that our students are always welcome to reach out with questions at [email protected].

One Story We Love

We are thrilled to share another Team Be A Travel writer win (and our absolute favorite type of email): our student Abby Price just published an awesome piece in National Geographic! Thanks to Abby, you can learn all about Theodore Roosevelt National Park here. Congrats, Abby! We love to see it.

One Place We Love

Some of you may remember that I took a trip to the Maldives last May, and oh how I miss spending so much time in the water! Many of our students have asked about ways to make hotel reviews stand out, so I’m sharing my recent review of Anantara Kihavah here in hopes it helps. I tried to highlight interesting details in the headline, lead with first-person experience, and include expert insights. Plus, I was able to give my video of the underwater restaurant new life. Lead times can sometimes be long (a good reminder to all involved in the media trip process), but I love reliving a great trip when a story finally goes live.

See you in class,

Stacey & Nina
