Calls for Pitches on Beaches and Hotels, and the Coachella Throwback You Didn't Ask For
Plus, more exciting news from our students!
Hello, travel writers,
First of all, thank you for voting in last week’s poll! We heard you, and it looks like we’re sticking to newsletter sends on Mondays (as much as we possibly can).
On that note, happy Monday. We hope you enjoyed your weekend! Stacey is in London Marathon training, and Nina enjoyed some rare time playing tourist at home with a great spa day at one of her local favorites, Terranea Resort. Meanwhile, we were thrilled to see so much fun news roll in from our students and job board subscribers.
Tiffany Chang Perez is on her way to Palm Springs for the Greater Palm Springs “Meet the Mentors” program, and as former mentors, we can’t wait to see what she writes after her trip. Kathryn Anderson landed a piece she spotted on our job board with Business Insider (please share with us when it’s live, Kathryn!), and Jessica Chaintreuil was published in Eater (more on that below)! You all continue to impress us and provide us with great reading material.

And as always, see more on the Be A Travel Writer Job Board for only $4/month or $40/year. We each added multiple openings and new calls for pitches today alone. Happy pitching!

One Story We Love

Be A Travel Writer student Jessica Chaintreuil just had her first article published for Eater: A Vibey New Cocktail Den in Redondo Beach Serves Up ’70s Throwback Style. Coincidentally, it happens to be about a new bar right near my house! Thanks to Jessica’s review, I’m planning to visit next weekend.
One Place We Love

OK, it’s been a long time since either of us went to Indio for Coachella, but as a timely throwback, here we are covering the festival together for Travel + Leisure back in 2019. We interviewed festival queen Vanessa Hudgens, danced a lot, tried all the food, recorded tons of social content, and got our ears pierced at a pool party (we’re not sure why either). Teachers are fun, too!
See you in class,
Stacey & Nina
