Hello, travel writers,

It’s been another tough week in media (we’re sure you’ve already heard all about The Washington Post), but NeimanLab released its Predictions for Journalism in 2026, and while it’s not all sunshine there either, some of it has us truly excited for what’s ahead. See: “AI will force us to be more ambitious, more human storytellers.” In our Writing a Winning Feature class with Rachel Chang, we talk all about nailing this type of travel writing.

Keep scrolling for more on what Rachel’s been up to, plus this week’s job openings and calls for pitches. As always, you can subscribe to our job board for WAY more jobs each week, including calls for pitches, full-time, part-time, and copywriting roles, updated daily, for just $4/month or $40/year.

Anyone who knows writer/editor Rachel Chang knows how passionate she is about the things she loves, from SNL to boy bands to travel. Her enthusiasm is contagious, so it’s no surprise she took the Super Bowl as an opportunity to get Vogue readers excited about her hometown. And yes, we think we’re in love with Santa Clara County now too. Best of all, Rachel proves once again that there’s always a travel angle to be pitched. You can read it here.

See you in class,
